VD&DS Progress (1)

     I've managed to get the background details of the two protagonists down after rewriting it around 4 times. It was a decision of whether or not they had some kind of history together. In the end I decided the two protagonists would have a shared turbulent past, but they had not seen each other for 8 years at the point the story will begin.

 

    Tama (the one who wears the mask) is the youngest of three children of very prominent human and labor rights activists who often got into trouble with the law. When she was 21 years old her parents disappeared and were blamed for the assassinations of the powerful clan leaders who run 2/3 of her homeland. She and her siblings attempted to figure out what happened to their parents for the next 2 years. 

    During that time she would met Makyi (the other protagonists) and his twin, Saethr, when she was at university. She befriended Saethr while Makyi was very hostile towards her since he blame her family for causing the clan war that killed his and Saethr's father. Unfortunately things ended badly for Tama and her siblings when masked warriors attacked them and Saethr, who was there on a visit. The incident left Tama burned and alone as she was sole survivor of the attack.

    Tama would then become a member of the Crimson Moon Guardians (CMG) to gain access to the training and resources to avenge her family and find the truth. She became a master of utilizing toxins to take down her opponents since she was just a very average fighter at best. It was also useful to use toxins in non-violent settings to sabotage or ensure favorable scenario for her investigations. The title the Tiger Demon came as an insult to her when she exposed a group of serial killers from high society to many disapproval of her "ruining" the killers'  lives.

    Makyi (the one who wears blue with orange highlights) is the oldest sibling of his twin, Saethr, and younger sibling. His father came from a disgraced family who betrayed the clan by scamming them of money and selling confidential information. His mother was a refugee fleeing persecution from her homeland after a dictator and his supporters pulled a coup on the government. Makyi has spent his life partially benefiting from the clan while also being abused and harassed by his own clan for being part of a disgraced family and intersex.

    After the assassination of their clan leader, the clan went into war with another rival clan that killed his father. Makyi and Saethr went to university to achieve their long term goal of avenging their father, evaluating their family, and protecting the clan. They met Tama, but it deeply frustrated Makyi that Saethr trusted and befriended someone he felt should be their enemy. When Saethr died from an attack by masked warriors Makyi blamed Tama for surviving and being the cause of his twin's death.

    Makyi would graduate as a healer specialized in using energy to treat illnesses and assist in other medical processes. Makyi was sent around the world to form alliances to help his clan survive the clan war. He would gain prominence when he helped heal celebrities, thanks to his clan's connections, and doing charity work in some of the most dangerous parts of the world on behalf of Saethr's dream to join an international group of healers and doctors who helped others without profit motive. This would culminate him gaining the title the Dragon Saint.
