Mock Up for Seaside Inn 4

Image
This is the final and overall design for the fake brand of the Azure Brand. I wanted the design to capture modern sensibilities, the flow of the waves, and colors of the ocean. I'll make a few more designs for this fake brand before moving onto something else.   Color Palette

I've come up with a template for a mock up brochure for the mock up Azure Wave Inn. I used a blue colored theme and wave like forms for a visual connection to the seaside and ocean. There may be some more edits and changes, but I think this is what I will go with as the main theme for the brand. Front Back

I've found a color palette that would go for this mock up and the different patterns that would go with this brand. It is common for many coastal hotels and resorts often use a shade of blue in their branding to evoke the clear skies and ocean they are close to. I decided to go that path since it would hopefully communicate what this place is and the fact the name of this mock up brand has "Azure", a variant of blue, in its name.

I'm beginning a mini project to create a brand for a made up seaside inn in Fort Bragg, California. This was inspired by the trips my family to the California coast every summer, except in 2020 and 2021. Hopefully we'll return to our yearly trip soon.     I went to research seaside inns and hotels in the area for ideas and how they organized their brand. I looked at the Timber Cove Resort, Noyo Harbor Inn, and the North Cliff Hotel websites as examples.      I worked to find something that utilized the form and colors of the ocean. I tried different combinations of lettering, but I settled on a wholly hand written lettering to match the flow of water. I also wanted the visuals of the lettering to match the logo I created.

I made these mock ups of book covers using Sribus, images made in Krita, and open stock images from flickr to keep up my practice and experimentation of visual compositions. There will be more mock ups of other book covers as I continue to work on finishing these ones.  Cook Book Mock Ups     The cook book mock ups are inspired from me watching the Great British Bake Off   during my free time. I looked to other cook books published to get a general idea what seemed most important to cook books, which was the food of course. I'll try a few more formats and compositions before I'm finished with these mock ups. I worked through many drafts until I came upon a style and visual that I felt worked for
