Welcome to My Blog

Hello from afar, I'm Carrie Pa Cha and this blog is dedicated to as a sort of digital archive of my digital art, design stuff, and graphic novels that I've completed or currently working on. I mostly work in digital media, but I do still like to use graphite, oil pastels, and colored pencil for physical works. My art can range from abstract experimental works to more straightforward representational pieces. VD&DS Progress & Other Updates (14)

Image
I just got back Adobe Aftereffects, made a practice trailer, and created backgrounds for the main characters in VD&DS. I started the outline over again with restrictions to not overwrite as the outline should have the big ideas and moments. The script should have the details of the moment-to-moment events and story glue.

VD&DS Progress & Other Updates (13)

I've been working on the world map of VD&DS, character cards, and the draft of the first of six books. Also I've finished and selected my micro masterpieces for the local and publicly funded art gallery to help local schools buy art supplies. I just need to find the time to print them out and glue them to the canvas.

Innaccurate Book Art: The Wolf & The Hawk

I made this illustration for practice, funsies, and to gift to a creator (Julian Greystoke) who has just finished reading a pretty bad book for entertainment and analysis.     I used the art by Clyde Caldwell, mostly known for his 80's fantasy and sci-fi art and illustrations (along with general trope of the half-naked woman clinging to or at the leg of the half-naked dude hero that was popular for the 80's fantasy and sci-fi art) as inspiration for this Inaccurate Book Art for the fantasy romance novel, The Wolf and The Hawk by Julian Greystoke. Here's a small sample of Caldwell's work so you get the literal pictures I what I was looking at.  Here's are links to buying the The Wolf and the Hawk electronic book, paper back, or audiobook: Barnes and Noble: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-wolf-and-the-hawk-emily-luebke/1137568825  Amazon (where the audiobook can be bought): https://www.amazon.com/Wolf-Hawk-Nine-Kingdoms-Book-ebook/dp/B08GWVR6WB          The

VD&DS Progress (12)

I've been busy working, needed a break, so haven't made much progress on the writing front. I did however finish another piece for the Micro Masterpieces charity.

VD&DS Progress (11)

Image
I've rewritten the backstory for Makyi and Tama once again, but it went much faster this time since I knew where to simplify and what to expand. I'm also working on the next Micro Masterpieces and finished the sketch composition. I'm still working on the story outline and it is going smoothly. Also taking a break from video games so I can focus working on this project for a bit.

VD&DS Progress (10)

Image
I've been reworking the story for VD&DS (again, but this is my 1st attempt on something so large so I'm learning as I go) and writing more of the worldbuilding down for so I don't have to memorize as much. I've also finished 1 out of 4 art pieces for the local charity that will help supply art tools for children in the local school district. The physical piece will be 6in x 6in though the digital file is larger than that.

VD&DS Progress (9)

I've managed to finish Tama's new default outfit. I wanted clothing to look at least more modern, change up the proportions of the colors to highlight contrast, make more references to plants and snakes, and hopefully be easier to color and render over and over again. I'll likely be continue working on the overall story outline for the coming weeks and try to finish the 1st art piece for charity.
